Oleificio Fullone
Barile, Basilicata Region, Italy
The Fullone oil mill is located in Barile (Pz), a small village in Basilicata in a unique area on the slopes of Mount Vulture (an extinct volcano), still unspoiled, harsh and with cold temperatures in winter and mild in summer. The volcanic soil and the surrounding environment help to create an extra virgin olive oil of the highest quality, as the Frantoio with its olive processing plant has been located for 100 years inside a huge hypogeum built by digging caves in the volcanic tuff, whose front part, visible from the outside, represents one of the oldest buildings in the Lucanian village.
